A Universal Signal of Perfection and Peace
"The Silent Assurance" is piece No. 59, and it speaks the language of the craftsman. In my years as a Tool & Die Maker, there was a specific feeling you got when you measured a part and it was accurate to 1/1000th of a millimeter. You didn’t need words. You just gave this sign.
It is the same in the salon when a client looks in the mirror, and it is the same as a father signaling to his daughter from across the room. It means “I’ve got you. It’s perfect.”
I rendered this piece using my signature "bank note" engraving style to emphasize the precision of the circle formed by the fingers. It frames a perfect loop of negative space—a window of clarity in a busy world. It is a rigid, mechanical technique used to capture a feeling of pure relief.
