A Portrait of the Perfect Pyramid

“The Sovereign Summit" is a tribute to nature’s geometry. The Matterhorn is unlike any other mountain; it is a solitary, perfect pyramid that rises out of the earth like a monument. As a former toolmaker, I have always been drawn to this peak because it looks engineered rather than grown. It is a masterpiece of angles and edges. I captured this scene using a "bank note" engraving style, using thousands of precise lines to render the jagged rock face and the mirror-like reflection in the Riffelsee lake below. It is a study in duality: the immovable hardness of the mountain above, and the fragile, wavering image of it in the water below.
