Divergent Rush — Mono — Wood
A Study of Speed, Risk, and Split-Second Decisions
"The Divergent Rush" captures the adrenaline of the descent. Long-boarding is a conversation with gravity—you have to trust your momentum to carry you through the curve. To me, the splitting road represents the choices we face in life. Do you go left or right? The only wrong answer is to stand still.
This piece is a study in motion and friction. I used my toolmaker’s understanding of physics to capture the "lean"—the precise angle required to counter centrifugal force. It’s a raw snapshot of speed that freezes the moment right before the path divides.
About the Cross-Hatch Technique: In this piece, the technique mirrors the terrain. I used aggressive, high-contrast cross-hatching to mimic the rough texture of asphalt and the blur of speed. Instead of smooth shading, thousands of intersecting ink lines build up the shadows, adding a gritty, tactile weight to the road that you can almost feel.
Wood Print: An organic, textured alternative for a modern industrial feel.
Depth Beyond the Line The thousands of strokes in my digital crosshatching find a perfect partner in the natural texture of birch wood. Our wood prints offer a tactile, rustic experience that paper cannot replicate. By revealing the wood grain through the highlights of the artwork, each piece gains an extra layer of warmth and depth.
FSC-Certified: Sustainably sourced wood for a conscious home.
Thickness Options: Select 10mm for a subtle profile or 20mm for a substantial gallery presence.
Uniquely Yours: The natural variation in the wood grain makes your specific print a unique original.
