The Winter Phoenix - Framed

A Vision of Resilience and Hidden Strength

"The Winter Phoenix" is a study of perspective. At first glance, it is a pine tree heavy with winter snow. But look closer, and it transforms into a majestic bird rising into the sky. This duality reflects my own life journey—we are never just one thing. We can be a toolmaker, a stylist, and an artist all at once.

To create this, I used my stylist’s understanding of texture to "sculpt" the snow. I treated the heavy, laden branches like layers of hair, shaping them into sweeping feathers that catch the wind. Anchoring it all is the solid, dark trunk—the toolmaker’s foundation that holds the weight of the transformation. It is a reminder that even in the coldest seasons of life, something beautiful is waiting to take flight.
